What you need to know:

1. Building a solid and eligible project

explort+ is aimed at companies that already have proven international experience. Your project must form part of a strategy for implementation, and not just a market exploration. The aim: to take action on a strategic project such as targeted prospecting, setting up a sales network, or setting up a foreign operation or cooperation partnership.

Before submitting your application, make sure your project meets the following criteria:

The product or service in question is already on the market (no prototypes).
You have made at least one sale in the last 12 months, in Belgium or abroad.
The project targets a clearly defined market (country or region).
Your marketing materials are available in the language of the target market.

2. Anticipate your commitments as a partner company

Your role is crucial to the programme’s success: you play an active part in ensuring the project runs smoothly and in integrating the explort+ talent.

Your company undertakes to:

Appoint an internal mentor (experienced, full-time) to supervise the project.
Provide a host organisation abroad: subsidiary, partner, distributor or service provider.
Provide the material and logistical resources necessary for the trainee to carry out their work.
Cover their costs (civil liability, health, travel).
Provide a bank guarantee, refundable at the end of the project, subject to compliance with the commitments.

Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) supports you throughout the process: from project development through to final approval and the signing of the three-way agreement.

3. Understanding the practical and financial aspects

explort+ combines strategic support with financial flexibility:

Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) provides 50% co-financing, in accordance with the scale applicable to the destination country.
Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) takes care of the selection, initial training and administrative support of the trainee.
The assignment lasts between 6 and 12 months, including at least one month in Wallonia for preparation.
The contract takes the form of a traineeship, with no subsequent contractual commitment.
You are free to accept or reject the proposed candidate, depending on how well they match your needs.
